This is kind of a grotesque story, but a friend of my dad's was surrounded by the market for some painkillers and I happen to have a neighbor who have all kind. So I got some methadone from her and sold it to the guy for some extra brass. But what does it do? Does it get you really really giant? I've only ever smoked pot and done a couple other "gateway" drugs. Does methadone get you feel apposite or just completely numb and senseless? Methadone shuts down your respiratory system ( your lungs and breathing) if you are not use to it and even if u are if u od --it will kill--look at Anna Nicole--and I know friends who own accidental od on methadone---u do not hallucinate and see stuff --not a suitable high--just numb and pass out

In answer to your question, methadone is a long acting opiod near effects that are similar to all opiods, such as morphine, demerol, fentanyl, hydrocodone, and so forth. It is used to relieve dull pain and has be best known as a drug to hold on to opiod addicts out of withdrawl.
It also have an effect not shared by other opiods in that it interacts next to something called the NDMA receptor which is involved within pain perception - other drugs that work at that receptor are ketamine and dextromethorphan.
